A Response to John Denham MP

- by the EDL

To the Right Honourable John Denham, MP.

Dear Sir,

I saw the press reports on your view of the English Defence League, (EDL) and would like to discuss this with you.

I would first like to point out that the EDL has no connection whatsoever with any far right group and like your self have nothing but utter contempt for those groups that hold RACIST opinions.

The EDL membership is open to all, regardless of race or religion, we have within our membership, people from many different ethnic groups and of all religious persuasions, including Muslims.

We do try to however, exclude those who are racist and those who would use violence and engage in public disorder.
But, as you will know from your own experience within the Labour party, it is sometimes a difficult task to get rid of those who have a different agenda.

Our protest is against the extremist, violent Islamic groups that are actively subverting Muslim youths into a hatred of our, their, country, to the extent that they wish to die and take many innocent people with them.
Some of the innocent could be our own wives, mothers and children, many of these of course will be from the Muslim and other ethnic groups, as was so in the London tube bombs and may have been so in the recent liquid bomb trial.

EDL would like to see our Government clamp down on those who teach hatred.

Most Muslims are hard working members of our society, struggling to provide for their families in the recession and we have no wish to harm them in any way what so ever.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and we look forward to your reply.

Yours,
EDL.
