Saturday’s EDL demos in Plymouth, Halifax and Boro

Middlesborough

Another great day & a great demo. About 500/550 EDL descended onto Boro today and, combined with excellent policing and a friendly atmosphere, the day was very enjoyable and which resulted in very few arrests.

A thunderstorm which lasted the full time of the march. And the demo only added to the fun - with a few EDL members plunging into the pond and others whipping their tops off in true North East style.

Plymouth

Travelled to Plymouth today. Took a day off work, along with some friends - all looking to support EDL. All looking to have our opinions heard.

Got there and no one knew where the march was. Spent a couple of hours walking around. Totally pointless really.

Have just seen the clips of the actual march that took place. What an absolute embarrassment. We did happen across the United Against Fascism march. They were loud had placards and a drum in the city centre. Made up of young student types and Totnes peace-loving hippies. People who looked like they hadn’t the honest clue who they were marching against....

Here’s some advice for future marches - because we met a lot of people who were looking for it too. Have someone at the station giving information where and when.and educate these morons of the UAF exactly who they’re marching against and why. Show them what Muslims do and how they kill the halal way. Show them that the EDL is not a racist football-hooligan gang. Give them on-line links to proof it. I can tell you that 80% of those young kids didn’t have a clue today holding banners proclaiming the EDL are racist. Are the English public really that dumb to march against something they know nothing about? Even the reporting of it was fabricated????? UAF were allowed to march willy-nilly with virtually no police presence. And they were a lot louder and aggressive that the EDL march. Yet look at the police presence with the EDL?

Is there no funding for travel in the EDL? There has to be an easier way than the current way of thinking. I don’t like being laughed at by extremists using absolute morons to have a louder voice than intelligent human beings have. It’s crazy.

Whose side are the police on anyway? Don’t they realise that the army, navy and RAF etc. are fighting for us over there? Or are the police instructed to beat away the support the British public has for our forces over there?

All I can visualize are those young idiots, whipped up into a frenzy by certain people having them believe it’s just about racism. Am I wrong?

I would like to support EDL, but if I associated myself with another fiasco like today. What I think, I would leave it to the wind in the future. A badly advertised march, with everyone knowing nothing. The police allowed to point our supporters in any direction they wished to ensure they didn’t make the march.

Lots of locals didn’t have a clue and wanted to support us. - By Hold Fast

Is outraged at what I have just heard. My partner and brother attended the demo today in Plymouth. And we were only allowed to march from Exeter Street to the Hoe. And there were about 200 police around them.

I just watched the news and learnt that the UAF were in town. UAF only had about 30 police officers surrounding them. How is this fair? Just shows that our Government is wank!!

Why were the EDL not allowed to put across their views today? Maybe because they might have to make changes to this country if everybody knew what the EDL actually stand for!! We are not racist. We want radical Islam out!! - By Jade Foley

Just got home and watched Spotlight and I'm disgusted that us English patriots are marched down the Barbican surrounded by 100s of police, while the UAF are marching through our city centre with about 20 coppers watching them.

When will we finally say enough is enough? Let's face it: what we're doing now isn't working. We need to step up and make a proper stand - not just march singing stupid songs - By Robert Williams

Halifax

So much for the right to demonstrate in the UK!

It doesn't mean being put in an empty car park 5 to10 miles away from the planned town of demonstration! It was a deliberate plan to cause trouble & frustration for us - making our endeavour pointless! We should not even give the authorities a destination in future. Only a vague clue. & then just descend on the place - or this will just keep happening!! - By Paul Ozzambin Stokes

WELL PEEPS WE WENT TO HALIFAX YESTERDAY AND TO BE HONEST IT WAS A JOKE LIKE GOING TO A CATTLE FARM NO ONE NEW WHAT WAS GOING ON JUST RUNNING ROUND A CAR PARK SOME GOT SEPERATED FROM US BY BREAKING THROUGH A FENCE BUT ALL IT SHOWED WAS THAT WE WAS IDIOTS

WELL, WE WILL NOT BE TRAVELLING TOO FAR FROM NOW ON BECAUSE WE HAVE GOT ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH IN OUR OWN BACK YARD.

SO THAT WILL BE OUR PRIORITY. WE HAVE GOT PROBLEMS IN WEST BROM, DUDLEY, WALSALL, CRADLEY HEATH AND BIRMINGHAM. SO OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS WE WILL WORK ON OUR OWN PROBLEMS AND WE WILL SHOW THEM HOW WE DO THINGS.- By the Friar Park EDL Division

  1. Why wasn't there much opposition to the E-D-ots in Halifax? Because you are irrelevant. Get back to Leeds and play with the Rabbi you pathetic shabbat goyim!

  2. Plymouth badly advertised? i worked sodding hard on this demo and we spent weeks advertising it, with trips into the town centre along with emails and posts on facebook. There is only so much that we can so and we had exhausted every angle to get the details out. Quite frankly people who didnt have a clue where to go didnt look it up properly! There were many members who showed up without any problems. The day went better then expected, numbers were good and there was no trouble!! A great day for us all in my eyes!
