[Left: the EDL's L.G.B.T Division 'is full of Uncle Toms', according to the SWP. Either that or they are 'not really gay', etc. Real gays are all Trots... but not Muslims... but that's fine by the SWP. The Brown Exotic Oppressed can even be homophobic... racist, imperialist, a bomber, a woman-hater, perhaps even a serial killer or a dictator. As long as he's Brown, Exotic and Oppressed, anything quite literally goes for the SWP. Don't you just love Marxist theory?]
EDL Extra comments on the Socialist Worker article, 'Victory for unity as EDL-backed 'East End Gay Pride' cancelled', by Viv Smith, 17th March, 2011. (Comments are in red.)
Activists have delivered a significant victory against attempts to divide the Muslim and LGBT communities in east London. [They were already fucking divided! We know it. Everyone knows it. Worst of all. The SWP knows it. But that doesn’t matter to them. Being against ‘dividing communities’ is a classic Marxist mantra that has to be said as many times as is humanly possible. That’s how the SWP works on its gullible new recruits. Endless repetitions of leftist clichés and soundbites. Just as Joseph Goebbels once ordered! That is, repeat a lie enough times and just about every (student) will believe it. That’s also why every single time Socialist Worker and Viv Smith write the word ‘EDL’, they prefix it with the word ‘racist’. As in, ‘the racist EDL’. This is literally decided upon by Trots. That’s how their minds work. They are selling you a product, revolutionary Trotskyism, and the best way to do that is to fucking ram home what it is they believe and what it is they think everyone else should believe. Thus you will literally never see the initials ‘EDL’ without that prefix – ‘racist’. Again, as Goebbels said: Repeat something enough time and people will believe it. This cynical use of repetition by the SWP is basically a means of Leftist brainwashing… Oh. I forgot. Only the Platonic Media, or the Press, or the Zionists, truly brainwash people. The SWP, on the other hand, simply imparts the pure truths of Trotskyism.]
It comes after Raymond Berry, along with three other people, claimed to be organising an LGBT pride march under the banner “East End Gay Pride”.
This followed the appearance of homophobic stickers across east London declaring it a “Gay free zone.” [At least the SWP is admitting that these stickers existed… Oh! Wait a minute! I bet they’ve already said that the EDL was really responsible for them. You know, in order to ‘divide the community’! I hate these Trots with a perfect hate.]
Berry is a far-right activist with links to the racist [see!!!!] English Defence League (EDL) and other far-right Islamophobic organisations. [What’s the SWP’s position on Islamist or Islamic homophobic organisations? That’s right. It hasn’t got one because Trotskyist theory disallows Trotskyists from ever criticising the Brown Exotic Oppressed. They can never do wrong or be said to have done wrong. To say that the Brown Exotic is 'homophobic' is to Divide the Community and to help oppression generally. Thus, quite literally, the SWP will let any Islamic group do anything it wants to do without offering a single word of criticism. This extreme case of inverted racism, or Brown Exotic patronisation, was made even clearer recently when the SWP criticised Searchlight, or Nick Lowles, for admitting that that there are Muslim extremists too, as well as far right ones. What a disgrace! The truth is a disgrace to the SWP. Searchlight, according to the SWP, is effectively siding with the Oppressor against the Brown Oppressed. And white middle-class Trots will condescend and patronise the Brown Exotic to an unimaginable degree.]
A number of local campaigners from Out East, Rainbow Hamlets, Imaan, Unite Against Fascism (UAF) and Love Music Hate Homophobia raised concerns about the involvement of the EDL in the event. [So Muslims can join this Gay festival but the EDL can’t? That’s sick and perverse.]
EDL supporters joined the event’s Facebook group. Berry said that the EDL was supporting the event.
A petition asking organisers to clarify the role of the EDL, and demanding that the EDL be told publicly that it was not welcome, gained widespread support from LGBT organisations, trade unionists, and others across the borough.
Out East, the organisation that organised Hackney Pride last year, and activists in east London, published a press statement raising their concerns. [Let’s help the Islamists and Muslims, who may one day kill us, get off the hook, eh? Let’s have another go at the EDL again instead. After all, attacking the EDL is politically hip; whereas attacking Islamists is verboten amongst the leftist politically hip.]
Correspondence then emerged from the RMT rail workers’ union, which is committed to opposing racism and all bigotry. It confirmed Berry’s links to racist and Islamophobic organisations. [What is this? Is the RMT rail workers’ union also an organisation of Leftist spies? What do they mean by the phrase the RMT ‘confirmed Berry’s links to racist and Islamophobic organisations’? Did these Leftist spies tap Berry’s phone or something? And, no, the EDL is not ‘racist’ (as in ‘racist EDL’ again!). As for ‘Islamophobic’? That just means being critical of Islamism and Islam… So that’s why the SWP never criticises Islam or Islamism because if it were to do so, it would quite simply be Islamophobic! That’s by their extreme and sick definition.]
In correspondence with the union about his union membership last September and October Berry refers to himself as one of the “original founding members” of the EDL. He claimed that he had left the organisation but had not changed his views.
“I wish to point out at this point that I still hold my firm beliefs with regard to Sharia Law and the continued Islamification of Britain,” he wrote. “I am still an active member of such organisations like Stop the Islamification Of Europe and No Sharia in Britain. [Fancy that. A self-important Leftist union persecuting one of its own members. The fucking Trots! No wonder Thatcher hated the unions if this union is a typical example of the species. What about protecting the wages and jobs of your members? Or is that not Trot enough? Not revolutionary enough for the RMT?]
“There are also plans currently being kicked around between myself and other former members of the EDL to start new groups with similar aims.
“As I have pointed out, my leaving the EDL is solely related to personal differences of opinion I have with the new leadership structure.”
The other three organisers of the event are alleged to have similar links and sympathies to Berry. Muslim LGBT organisation Imaan [how many members? one, perhaps two? and also members of the SWP no doubt] said that it would publish a dossier showing that the other organisers have “right wing and fascistic associations.” [So not only is being ‘far right’ forbidden by these cunts; so too is being ‘right wing’. What does Imaan think it is? A private Stalinist witch-hunt coordinator against anybody not only far right, but also simply ‘right wing’?]
Within hours of Imaan’s statement, Berry resigned from the organising group.
A few hours later a statement appeared on the website for the event saying it was cancelled.
The exposure of attempts by racists to use such a serious issue to divide people is a victory. [‘Racist’ again! And again! And again! Until even the those most sceptical of the SWP begin to think that the EDL is truly racist, eh? Is that what’s behind these endless repeats of ‘racist EDL’?
Again, the Islamists of this part of London, as well as many ordinary Muslims, are already divided from gays and the gay community. The EDL cannot divide that which is already divided. And what if the EDL really has a genuine problem with what these Islamists have been doing in London’s East End? Or do these haters of the white working class simply assume that no EDL can be gay or sympathise with gay issues. You fucking racist snobs! You middle-class theory-intoxicated arseholes!]
LGBT activists – supported by the East London mosque, the mayor of Tower Hamlets and anti-fascist organisation UAF – rightly want to stand up to homophobia wherever it rears its head.
If this march had gone ahead, with racists at its core, it would have destroyed any chance of unity in the borough.
At the same time as a number of people were raising questions about the organisers, various articles appeared backing the event. A number of LGBT journalists including Johann Hari and Paul Burston supported the event and criticised those raising questions as being soft on Muslim homophobia. [Like the SWP? The SWP – tough on every non-Trot on the planet, except those who are Brown and/or Muslim.]
The correct approach is to recognise that, in the context of David Cameron’s recent attack on multiculturalism and the long term rise of Islamophobia, we need unity to beat bigotry. [Nice soundbite. Pity it’s vacuous.]
The next step in Tower Hamlets is the organisation of a Pride march that will oppose homophobia and seek to build genuine unity against all bigotry. [Including SWP bigotry against the white working class, even if they are gay? Against SWP bigotry against the entire right wing, Zionists, neocons, neoliberals, old-fashioned-cons, Searchlight… the list of SWP bigotry is as large as any list a ‘ring winger’ would give you. The SWP is made up of supreme fucking hypocrites!]
